St. Barnabas School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available to students at the school. St. Barnabas is a Roman Catholic elementary school intended to provide a quality Catholic education for the children of St. Barnabas parishioners. The children of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Mother of Sorrows parishioners are admitted on an equal basis and/or those families having a sibling(s) currently enrolled in the school and live in the Nordonia Hills School District. The children of supporting members of the two parishes receive preference for admission to the school.
Enrolling in a Catholic school requires parental involvement and a spiritual commitment on the part of the entire family. It is your example as a parent to teach your child the Christ-like way of service to others. Parents are expected to become involved in the Catholic education of their child. We ask that you build religious celebrations and prayer into the family lifestyle, by attendance and participation in the school and parish celebrations and activities. Remember, our #1 goal in life is to get to Heaven!
Non-parishioners and non-Catholic children will be admitted only on a space available basis. Children enrolled in the school are automatically accepted for the following year unless removed for cause. When class size limits are reached or if, for any reason, the school cannot provide for the social, moral or educational growth of a child, admittance may be refused.
Children applying for grades 1-8 will follow our admissions criteria but admitted only on a space available basis. All admittance into grades Preschool - 8 are conditional for the first year. Normally, junior high students will not be accepted unless they are transferring from out of state.
