4 Year Old Preschool:
Happy November! Wow, where did October go? It was so busy and we all had lots of fun. Ending the month of October with Halloween parties was super. Many thanks go out to the party moms and dads who made our parties so special. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a job well done!
The month of November is going to be even busier than October, if you can believe it. The children will be learning about the ways of colonial life and the Native American Indians. We will be talking a lot about food, and the children will be preparing the food for our Thanksgiving feast. So please mark your calendar for Monday, November 19th to join your chlid for a St. Barnabas Preschool Thanksgiving Feast. Your child may invite on guest to our celebration. Please, we ask that siblings not attend so that you may spend quality time with your child. The children will sing songs and do some finger plays before the actual feast takes place.
Due to later lunch periods we will have both AM and PM classes together for our Thanksgiving Feast. Our Feast will begin at 8:30 AM. The morning class should arrive at their usual time, and the afternoon class should arrive at 8:00 AM. All guests should arrive in the cafeteria at 8:30 AM. Please do NOT arrive early.
In keeping with our food theme, the children will be taking a field trip to Pizza Hut on November 26th to see how pizza is made and to enjoy some. In the class, the children will become the chef as they put on their apron and create their own pizza.
Our themes, crafts, music, counting and shapes will all center around the colonial/Native American Indian period. Mrs. Shirk and I are very excited to begin this month of activities with your children. Many thanks for giving us the opportunity to teach them. They are great!
Please read to your children and practice counting from 1- 10. Also, please have your childen color with crayons, and cut with scissors at home. Go over colors and shapes with your child: red, yellow, green, orange, black, brown, blue, purple, white. Also, on the top of your calendar are letters we are introducing each month. Please review the upper and lower case of each new letter and all previous month's letters. Enjoy your special time with your child. See youat Parent-Teacher Conferences.
