In this uncertain environment, St. Barnabas believes it is imperative that learning continues, even if it can’t happen in person. That’s why we’re providing an online platform available to all students to access at any time.
St. Barnabas School is committed to returning to school in-person for the Fall 2020-21 school year. However, we understand due to multiple reasons some may not be able to join us. The good news is that is OK. You can still be an active St. Barnabas Student from your home. Whether you need to stay at home for the entire year or just for a few weeks, through our robust online option learning can continue.
St. Barnabas uses Google Suite for Education as our online and in school platform. This platform is easily accessible through a home computer or a school issued Chromebook. This version of Google Suite includes all the core Google apps such as Gmail and Google Docs, with the addition of some school-oriented tools such as Google Classroom.
Google Classroom allows students both at home and in school to organize their work, view class material, complete and turn in assignments, and communicate directly with their teachers and peers.
Online Students will follow the same schedule as an in person student. Schedules will be posted through the Google Classroom Platform with links to material and Live Class session.
All classrooms are equipped with web cameras which allow the ability to live stream into the classroom and hear and see first hand the lessons being taught. Live streaming gives the student the ability to participate in major core subject areas, such as math, science, and language arts, but it also gives them the ability to participate in electives offered at St. Barnabas such as music, art, and physical education or join a St. Barnabas assembly and attend weekly mass. Having the ability to Live Stream daily classes and special events makes the virtual education experience seamless. St. Barnabas believes that a child's physical location should not deter them from being a vibrant member of the St. Barnabas student body.
Students, teachers and families are at the heart of everything St. Barnabas does and we are committed to helping everyone have positive learning experiences, whether online or in school. If interested in learning more please contact our admissions office.
Students worldwide are having their education disrupted by the spread of Coronavirus. Schools and universities haven’t faced this level of disruption in generations, but unlike any time in the past, with the use of technology, we have the ability to continue education even when schools close.
