4 Year Old Preschool:
Wow! January was supposed to be restful after the busy holiday season. But, not at St. Barnabas Preschool. We had a great month! Gymnastic week was one of the hignlights of January. However, HAT DAY and BEAR DAY were very special too! What a grrrrreat month! A big thank you goes out to all the Moms & Dads that helped out during Gymnastics Week.
During February, the children will learn about Valentine's Day, review patterns, and sorting. We will be learning about the heart shape, and review shapes and colors.
Starting in mid February, we will begin our nursery rhyme unit. This unit will include counting, rhyming, sorting, singing, colors, and repetition. This unit is very valuable in preparing out students for reading readiness. They will learn about the origins of the nursery rhyming, which originate mostly from England. Through books, we will travel across the ocean and visit Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle. We will continue with this unit through April. You should look forward to reliving your own childhood through the nursery rhymes your child will come home singing.
On Thursday, February 13th, each class will have their own Valentine's Day party. Class will begin at the regular time. The AM party will begin at 9:15 AM and the PM party will begin at 1:15 PM. If you are going to send in Valentines, please sign the cards, but do not address the cards.
On Thursday, February 27th is Mitten Day. We ask each child to bring in their own pair on mittens.
We are looking forward to great parties and a wonderful month!
