Here is what's happening in Preschool...

November
3-Year-Old Preschool:

Happy October! September passed by very quickly and there is much going on at our preschool. During the month of October, we will introduce your children to apples and pumpkins. The children will also be introduced to the concepts of big and little using the pumpkins and seeds. The triangle and square shapes will also be introduced this month as well as the colors black, orange, and white.

We will be learning about a nocturnal animal, the owl, and cats. Ask the children to tell you some of the things they have learned as they show off the owl puppets they will make as a craft. With each topic introduced to the children, we will include counting, painting, songs, fingerplay, fine motor activities, and literature.

We are looking forward to singings the Eensy Weensy Spider with the children as we explore the world of the spider.

Our Halloween party and parade will be on Thursday, October 29th, and will conclude our October learning. Let's pray for beautiful weather so we can parade outside.

We are thoroughly enjoying our apple unit. Our apple tasting party included tasting Fuji, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Gala, Honey Crisp, and Granny Smiths. By the way, did you know that apples are part of a flower?

Happy October! The month will pass by very quickly and there is much going on at our preschool. During the month of October, we will conclude our apple studies and the children will be introduced to spiders and webs. They will learn why spiders are very important to man, and why they are not insects. We will also introduce the bat, which is a nocturnal mammal.

The children will hear the beautiful story of Stellaluna by Janell Cannon, about a fruit bat. With each topic, we introduce to the children, we will include counting, painting, songs, fingerplay, fine motor activities and literature. We will also be learning about the skeletal system, pumpkins and Halloween. They will also be introduced to the upper and lower-case letters B, J, P, S, G, and X.
