All incoming kindergarteners are invited and encouraged to attend the Summit County Sheriff's Safety City program this summer at St. Barnabas School. To participate in Safety City, your child must be entering kindergarten this fall at St. Barnabas School.
Safety City is an early childhood program designed to instruct children in safety concerns. Through the use of a miniature city, guest presenters, and other resources, the children are instructed in many areas including bus, traffic, stranger, fire and home safety.
This is the 28th year the Sheriff's Office has provided Safety City programs to many area schools. The four-day program conducted by the Summit County Sheriff's Office, with support from the Northfield Center Township Fire Department, past DARE Graduates and guest presenters is provided at no cost to you. However, due to increasing budget cuts and concerns, any monetary donations to help offset costs of shirts, snacks and supplies would be greatly appreciated. Please make donations payable to Summit County Sheriff's Office/Safety City.
Summit County Sheriff's Safety City will be held Tuesday, June 13 through Friday, June 16, 2023. The program is from 8:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. each day.
In order to make proper arrangements and obtain supplies, registrations are required by May 19, 2023.
