Ignite Gala 2021

You are officially invited to the 3rd annual St. Barnabas School Ignite Gala on Friday, October 22, 2021. We are thrilled to announce that the Ignite Gala is back and planning is in full swing for our third fundraising event to be held at a new, larger location, The Hilton Garden Inn, in Twinsburg.

What is Ignite?

A fun-filled evening that includes live and silent auctions as well as delicious food, drink, and entertainment.  Ignite supports the mission, vision, and initiatives of St. Barnabas School which provides Christian faith, service, and academic excellence in  Nordonia Hills and the surrounding communities. Since our inaugural Gala, our school has been able to upgrade campus security, relocate the main office to a safer, more functional location on campus, upgrades such as air conditioning, LED lighting, paint and carpet, and lockers as well as flexible seating options. And who could forget the new playground and gaga pit! This substantial list of improvements would not have been made possible without the funds raised at our past Ignite Galas and we are eternally grateful.

What will the proceeds from this year’s Ignite Gala benefit?

Our dream is to build a multi-functional outdoor classroom/amphitheater/stage on our beautiful and extensive St. Barnabas campus.

How does an outdoor classroom/stage/amphitheater impact our students?

Our outdoor classroom will provide a unique environment to help foster creativity, problem-solving skills and intellectual development of our students immersed in one of God’s greatest creations, nature!

Research shows:

  • Learning outdoors is healthy - There are many benefits to learning outside, including increased student mental, physical, and social health and decreased stress levels for both our teachers and students.

  • Learning outdoors supports child development - Children greatly benefit developmentally from being outdoors. Outdoor education and play support emotional, behavioral and intellectual development. Studies have shown that students who learn outdoors develop: a sense of self, creativity, decision-making and problem-solving skills, empathy towards others, self-discipline and initiative.

  • Learning outdoors helps develop a sense of place and civic attitudes and behaviors - Outdoor experiences help students increase their understanding of their natural and human communities which leads to a sense of place.
