The Saint Barnabas 8th-grade Roots & Wings students are hosting a candy sale to raise funds for a clean water project at a school in South Sudan, East Africa.
In South Sudan, millions of women and children trek for up to eight hours a day to collect water from marshes, ditches, or hand-dug wells where water is often contaminated with parasites and bacteria.
By meeting our fundraising goal of $2060, we will help ensure that students have access to clean water through a new borehole well project, eliminating any health concerns and maximizing classroom time for all students. To support this project, 8th-grade students are going to be selling your favorite candies from Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24 from 7:40 until 8:00a.m. each morning in the breezeway. Candy prices will range from $1.00 to$4.00.
Sales will also be going on Sunday, April 19, following 10:30 mass.
