JH House System

The Junior High experience at St. Barnabas is energized and enriched through our House System—a partner-based incentive model designed to foster leadership, build community, and strengthen our vibrant school culture. Inspired by the traditions of European universities and reimagined by the innovative Ron Clark Academy, our House System encourages students to grow as servant leaders grounded in faith, compassion, and excellence.

Beginning in Spring 2025, the St. Barnabas House System will become a defining part of our Junior High, promoting character development, academic achievement, school spirit, mentorship, healthy competition, and a deep sense of belonging. Through these elements, our students live out the mission of St. Barnabas—to be evangelizers, encouragers, and miracle workers—both inside and outside the classroom.

We are 6 Junior High Houses… 1 St. Barnabas Family:

  • Sollevare – The House of Uplifting
  • Altruismo – The House of Givers
  • Amistad – The House of Friendship
  • Isibindi – The House of Courage
  • Nukumori – The House of Kindness
  • Reveur – The House of Dreamers

Each House represents a unique set of values, colors, symbols, and mottos that reflect the diverse gifts of our students and our shared Catholic identity. Together, they form a unified family where every student has a place and a purpose.

Led by dedicated St. Barnabas teachers and eighth-grade Heads of House, students will gather regularly for collaborative projects, service initiatives, and friendly competitions in academics, arts, and athletics. House points will be awarded for positive contributions, and each month we will celebrate House Star Students—those who best embody their house’s mission through service, leadership, and academic effort. At the end of the year, the House Championship will recognize the House that best lived out the values of our community.

Together, our House System helps students grow not only as learners, but as faithful and compassionate leaders prepared to serve the world around them.
