Enrichment Programs

Students who are high achievers, creative thinkers and/or gifted learners, benefit from enriching and challenging opportunities.  At St. Barnabas School, we are committed to extending learning beyond the routine classroom curriculum, providing opportunities designed to enrich, sustain, engage, challenge, and ensure these students’ continued growth.

For our Primary Enrichment Program, students in Grades 1 – 3 are eligible based on a combination of MAP testing performance, teacher recommendation, and classroom participation.  The small groups meet weekly for 30 minutes and focus on accelerated curriculum in Math and/or Reading.

Roots and Wings

Our Roots and Wings Program is designed for students in Grades 4 – 8 who qualify based on Ohio Department of Education Standards (ode.state.oh.us/gifted).  Students meet in small learning groups once or twice a week, and are given opportunities to interact with students of similar abilities as they delve into questions, subjects and topics in greater depth.  The curriculum focuses on problem solving, logic strategies, and critical as well as creative thinking.
