Service

Service and giving back to the community is an integral part of our religion program. Throughout the year, students participate in note writing to service members, artwork for nursing homes, baking for food banks, the “Free Rice”, “H20 for Life” programs, as well as food, clothing, and school supply drives.

We challenge our junior high students to accumulate service hours throughout the year. Many students begin to work toward this goal over the summer as they volunteer at our local library and assist with our church picnic. Throughout the year, visiting Hattie Larlham Adult Day Care or St. Pat’s Hunger Center are just two of the many activities our children visit to complete such service.  The children categorize their service based on the seven Social Justice Teachings and reflect on their work quarterly in Religion class.

Not only our students but also their families are called – through the example of Jesus – to serve one another.  Visit our Volunteer Opportunities page to find out all the ways you can get involved.
