Philosophy
At St. Barnabas School's Early Learning Center, we understand and share your desire for the best possible educational experience for your child, in an environment that embodies and incorporates the values you instill at home. At St. Barnabas, we recognize that young children gradually grow in readiness for schooling. Curiosity makes them eager to learn and grow through exploration all while nurturing their developing social and emotional skills. As children learn about themselves and their surroundings, as well as God's gifts, they develop a caring attitude towards others. With that in mind, we offer flexible Preschool programs for children ages 3 and 4, as well as a full-time Pre-Kindergarten program for children ages 4 and 5.
Curriculum
Our curriculum, developed by the State of Ohio and the Diocese of Cleveland, focuses on an active learning environment with an emphasis on language arts, reading and math readiness instruction, faith and religion, fine and gross motor development, problem-solving and positive social behavior.
Our preschool and pre-kindergarten programs provide all the ingredients for learning through a nurturing environment and support from a team of highly qualified educators.
We are preparing your little ones to:
- Acquire foundational cognitive skills by learning through experiences in Math, Science, Language, Social Sciences, Religion, Art, Music, physical movement, play and field trips.
- Begin to develop an understanding of Christian values.
- Effectively communicate and socialize with their peers.
- Successfully transition to Kindergarten.
