Clinic
At St. Barnabas School, the health and well-being of our students is a top priority. Our school clinic provides a safe and caring environment where students can receive support for their health needs throughout the school day.
The school clinic is staffed by our school nurse, who works closely with students, families, and staff to promote student wellness and ensure students are ready to learn.
Health Services Provided
The school clinic provides support for a variety of student health needs, including:
- Caring for students who become ill or injured during the school day
- Administering medications according to school policy and physician instructions
- Maintaining student health records and immunization documentation
- Supporting students with health conditions and individual care plans
- Conducting required health screenings
- Communicating with families regarding student health concerns
Illness Guidelines
To help maintain a healthy school environment, parents are asked to keep students home when they are experiencing symptoms that may prevent them from fully participating in the school day or may put others at risk of illness.
If a student becomes ill or injured at school, the nurse will assess the situation and contact parents/guardians when necessary. Please ensure that your emergency contact information in FACTS is current so we can reach you promptly if needed.
Medication Guidelines
All medications administered at school must follow St. Barnabas School medication procedures. Prescription and over-the-counter medications require appropriate documentation from a parent/guardian and, when required, a healthcare provider.
Students may not carry or self-administer medication at school unless approved according to school policy.
Families are responsible for submitting all required health forms and keeping student health information updated. Please notify the school office and clinic of any changes to your child's medical needs, medications, allergies, or emergency contact information.
Thank you for partnering with us to support the health, safety, and success of every St. Barnabas student.
